A: The defaults of the basic STx Configuration Settings Dialog can be used without any disadvantage of the signal processing functions. The settings can be changed any time later on.

B: Once S_TOOLS-STx has been installed datasets can be created to build a container for soundfiles and metadata to be processed in STx-projects. Usually the dataset files are created in the directories which contain the soundfiles of a project. Nevertheless soundfiles from arbitrary disk locations can be involved in one dataset.

Note: STx stores the metadata, such as annotations, segment data etc. at the location of the corresponding soundfiles. It is the users duty to migrate both in common, the soundfiles and the metadata if the migration of a project is appropriate! The content is displayed in the Segment List.
